SchoolWide Positive Behavior Support
SW-PBS is a proactive, research-based approach to preventing student behavior problems and achieving social, emotional, and learning goals. It is not a program or curriculum. It is a team-based process for solving, planning, and evaluation of our school's behavior intervention plan. It is an approach to creating a safe and productive learning environment where teachers can teach and all students can learn.
Mission Statement: Through PBS, Truman Elementary will promote academic excellence in a positive school climate by recognizing exemplary behavior.

One of the basic elements of our SW-PBS is the Behavior Matrix. The Matrix is an adopted set of expectations for behavior throughout our school. These expectations are heavily emphasized during "Boot Camps" which occur at the beginning of the school year and shortly after Winter Break. Teachers then reinforce these expectations regularly throughout the rest of the year. Click on the attachment below to download the Truman Elementary Behavior Matrix.
